She released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five tracks which reached the top of the charts on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. This track was special due to the Rap-Up interview that she gave many of the listeners could identify with her journey of discovering their own love while battling with her. Cara's music has been praised for the messages it conveys of kindness in self-love, and mental wellbeing. Her music is an expression of her own struggles to deal with depression and insomnia. In an interview with Reuters the magazine, she said that her album was "half chaotic" and "half finished". She says she grew by therapy and is adamant about encouraging those around her to seek assistance whenever needed. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician was born in Canada on the 11th of July, 1996 to Italian parentage. The parents of her gave her a guitar when she was just the age of 10. This sparked her enthusiasm for music. As a teenager she began to cover songs she loved on YouTube for the purpose of showing her fans that she was talented and was able to make the decision to pursue the career of a musician. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and compose her own music.
